  • Jalopnik Reviews: 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, Part 3

Why you should buy this car: Because you want an SUV that packs over 400 horsepower, runs a low 13-second quarter mile, handles like a slot car, and goes 0-60 in under five seconds. Because you like the idea of a vehicle assembled in Detroit, USA and Graz, Austria - next town over from Thal, where California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was born. Why you should not buy this car: Because you are one of the few people that actually uses the towing, hauling, or off-road capability of an SUV.

  • Jalopnik Reviews: 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, Part 2

Exterior Design: **** The SRT crew took a Grand Cherokee and meaned it up track style. The result is a low-slung brick fronted by a giant front air dam. Center exit dual exhaust on the other end puts a stop to any ridiculous ideas about towing. Why even pretend the thing is going to go off-road or tow a boat? The utility in this monster is apparent once you stuff it into a corner and hit the throttle. The exterior design is a case of form following modified function. Interior Design: *** Bols

  • Jalopnik Reviews: 2007 Ducati Superbike 1098

Riding the 1098 away from Southern California Ducati came with a warning. Three busted-up 1098's sat in the repair queue outside the shop. As the foreman explained, the monobloc brakes could very easily pitch you right over the grips or low-side you onto the tarmac. With those images fresh in mind I rode around the shop a few times, through a few intersections, and up onto the freeway. There I found riding the 1098 in a straight line is an exercise in torture. With each passing mile a thousand o

We love it when old Jezza starts talking cock-o-meter. We believe he first used the analogy in his (404 page missing) review of the Saab 9-3 Sport Wagon. The metaphor goes as such: Based on the car you are driving, your threads and your haircut, the cock-o-meter tells you how much of a cock you look like. All BMW drivers score a 5 (highest score). Saab drivers on the other hand? We forget exactly, but it was pretty low. Here's how JC explains it this time:

After all, the reason the Daytona is so breathtakingly fantastic is because it had to compete with this Ferrari. Pu

  • Spiked Squire: Denver Rolls Out The Not-So-Welcome Wagon

Our friend Kitt in Denver sends in these photos of an evil-looking '66 Country Squire she spotted menacing her neighborhood. Now, when you take a family hauler and attempt to make it look mean, you're walking a pretty thin line between looking good and looking lame (the same rule applies to tattoos, of course). We think bolting 1981-punk-style spikes on a car is a longshot bet, but the overall effect here gets the Jalop Stamp-O-Approval.

We've never really understood the impulse to plaster slogans on the back of one's vehicle. Thinking back, it turns out that we've only ever had one bumper sticker affixed to an actual bumper, and it was for our old band. Which hardly counts. By and large however, bumper sticker
