  • Richard's first step into the automotive world was with his first car, a 1968 Ford Mustang, with a price tag of $100 (a hundred bucks being a direct reflection of its condition) before he had his driver's license.
  • He does all his own automotive maintenance and repairs to the degree possible in a home setting.
  • He's installed suspension lift kits, and rebuilt engines, and has a deep familiarity with car audio and alarm systems from his side hustle in the 90s.

Experience

Richard is a writer with a particular interest in all things automotive. Although he is relatively new to the industry, he's already racked up hundreds of bylines with TopSpeed, SlashGear, and MotorBiscuit. His infatuation with cars started at an early age, building plastic models. In adulthood, he's gone through various make-driven phases, including C3 Corvettes, Jeep Wranglers, Porches, and a few motorcycles thrown in for good measure. Reluctantly, he is also developing a budding curiosity for EVs and other zero-emission vehicles.

Education

Richard completed a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Miami.
