  • Paul learned to drive in a Datsun 510 station wagon before irresponsibly refining his skills in his father's 1991 Saab 9000 Turbo and his grandfather's 1929 Ford Model A.
  • Thanks to a track event in a 2021 Shelby GT500, he knows that true fear is flooring it in a 760 hp, 4,000+ pound missile (it's also how he knows what it is to be alive).
  • As a child, Paul dreamed of owning a Callaway Twin-Turbo Corvette, which is also a dream that adult Paul has.

Experience

Paul's love of all things automotive was passed down from his father, who raced motorcycles and cars, worked as a mechanic, built go-karts and minibikes, and always owned an eclectic mix of vehicles, from a column-shifted Saab 96 to an E36 5-speed BMW 328i. From an early age, he would read and memorize everything he could, from the monthly Car & Driver and Automobile magazine subscriptions to giant, overly detailed books about Lamborghinis, Mercedes-Benzes, Corvettes, and AMC muscle cars. He still does this. Though Paul went to college for music, his passion for cars never waned. After a decade in talk radio (which led to him riding in the Blue Angels' Fat Albert C130), public relations for a homeless shelter and recovery center, voice-over production, and podcasting, he transitioned to writing professionally following his father's retirement, taking over his client base. He was lucky enough to write for Write Collective, where he got to create content for CarShield, Falcon Car Rental, various auto shops around the country, and many other car-based businesses. After a stint writing for HotCars, Paul knew he wanted to devote his career to writing about the automotive industry. So, when the opportunity to write for Jalopnik arose in May of 2025, he jumped at the chance.

Education

Paul attained a B.A. from University of West Florida.
