- Dennie's interest in cars started early with Matchbox and Hot Wheels, building model kits, and drawing. He attended local new car shows and collected new car brochures. Dennie had an early affinity for GM cars, and later for German vehicles.
- Dennie has had a keen interest in the auto industry and automotive technology since reading Car and Driver and Motor Trend magazines front-to-back starting in his early teens, and later through industry publications and a series of tubes called the internet.
- After a long career as an auto technician, Dennie now only works on his own cars reluctantly.
Experience
Dennie's career took a vocational route when he started as an apprentice dealership technician for Saturn, which continued for 18 years, including other GM brands. Later, he took an opportunity at a commercial truck manufacturer to verify and build OBD procedures for their diagnostic tool. In addition to writing articles for Capital One Auto Navigator, Dennie spent several years as a part-time contractor for a specialized online marketing agency, writing about automotive culture, maintenance and diagnosis, and parts and accessories content for multiple auto dealers and parts websites.
Education
Dennie has an associate degree with a focus on marketing from Lorain County Community College.
