Watch The 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon Scare The Living Shit Out Of Me

The 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon is an 840-horsepower purpose-built drag racing car that somebody snuck license plates on. But there's a lot more to this machine than an enormous engine, and the whole package creates one of the most exciting and terrifying ten-second rides you can take.

The last time I made involuntarily howler monkey noises like this was on a rollercoaster at Six Flags, and I think I was about 10. The Demon is silly-fast. Scary fast. Fresh-pants-please fast. I think that much is evident by my reaction to my first quarter-mile run in the car.

For a little more context, I ripped this pass using the Demon's TransBrake launch feature and basically a full boot of throttle with the car in drag mode and the transmission in full-automatic.
