The Jaguar F-Type R-S Will Apparently Come With All The Downforce
Ever since Jaguar started making cars like the Jaguar XFR-S and the XKR-S, an R-S version of the sublime F-Type was a bit of an inevitability. Now the people at Touriclips captured one pounding around the Nurburgring (of course), and it looks like Jag's trying to glue it to the road. With air.
No, not with a ridiculous enormous wing on the bootlid. That's for GT racers and the guy with the Geo Prizm down at the Wal-Mart. From this video it looks like the Jaguar F-Type R-S will come with a giant scraper attached to the front, and possibly the world's largest diffuser strapped to the back.
Because downforce.
Of course, it looks like there will still be a little wing on top of the trunk as well. Because, well, ya know, downforce.
It's not clear if this is the F-Type "Clubsport" version that F-Type Program Director Russ Varney was talking about earlier this year, but I'm just going to go ahead and say that I doubt it, as what's being tested here is a convertible version, rather than a hardtop which would provide maximum lightness and rigidity.
And no matter how much power it has, it's obvious that that engine will still sound dirty as all hell.
