Now That's What I Call Cheatin' Edition

If you've ever been confronted by a nut that needed just a little more torque than you could provide solo, you know the value of a cheater bar. Most aren't as hefty as this one being deployed on an Seabees' bulldozer, but they can be a real useful shortcut, even if it's somehow consider cheating. Today's story about rule-bending in the Gran Turismo/Nissan contest brought a cheater's confession from Brandegee:

"Hi, my name is Randy. And I did something I'm not proud of. I...I, I cheated at Gran Turismo.

It started small. I was a GT-R fan. You know, Godzilla, R34 and all that. A Stage 3 turbo and I was killing it every race. But the races got harder. Just a little off-track here and here. Gran Turismo 3. Yeah. It helped me get by, and I liked the thrill. It was the winning, you know what I'm talking about.

I thought it was no big deal. It wasn't multiplayer, I wasn't hurting anyone. But GT4 got really hard, especially on some of the endurance levels. I just couldn't handle the losing. I wasn't just bumping and running anymore, I was testing the limits of the game, doing things I'm ashamed of. Doing things that were totally unrealistic.

GT5 opened up a whole new world. But I couldn't the pressure. I hit rock bottom. I was grass-cutting on flat tracks, thumbing my nose at life. It caught up to me.

Things are better now, but there's still the nightmares. The Bergwerk at Nurburgring. The sand trap after Mulsanne. Mission 34. I still get the tremors. I still wake up at night, crashing into the wall. But I look around and I'm alright."
