Jay Leno Gets To Be First Non-GM Person To Drive The New Corvette Stingray

In case you were thinking that being a wildly famous millionaire is a joyless, arduous prospect you're happy to avoid, here's something that may change your mind: Jay Leno got to be the first non-GM employee to drive the new 2014 Corvette Stingray.

It's all here in this latest installment of Jay Leno's Garage, though 98% of the video is Jay and Corvette designer Ed Welburn poking and prodding the car, marvelling at the styling, the fact that all those vents actually do something, and fantasizing about the number of grocery bags one could haul in such a car.

A few observations to consider while watching this:

  • Does Jay Leno own any shirts that aren't denim?

  • Corvette designer Ed Welburn makes fun of Leno for using the word "dashboard."

  • Leno appreciates ground clearance in his sports cars.
