While cord-cutters probably spend most of their TV time on streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, a good OTA antenna is still an essential piece of gear for anyone looking to break ties with their cable provider. The
Mohu Leaf is consistently considered one of the best options out there, and the amplified version is on sale for an all-time low price today.

The Leaf was
Lifehacker readers' favorite antenna by a huge margin, and Alan Henry wrote aglowing review as well. It's might not get the job done if you live in a rural area (here's a guideto help you find out), but if you live in or near a city, it should pull in all of the major local stations with little difficulty.

This is the
amplified version of the Leaf, which should give you a few extra miles of range over the standard leaf, and clear up any channels that don't come through consistently with a passive antenna. It sells almost exclusively in the $60-$70 range, but today only, you can grab one for $49. It looks nearly identical to the Leaf, save for some subtle antenna lines, and has a similar review average. Antennas are tough to recommend, because performance depends so much on location, but it might be worth buying both, and returning whichever one pulls in fewer channels.
