COTD: A Ferrari In New York Edition

There's a 1979 Dino 308 GT4 that lives in New York City. It was off the streets for a while because the owner hit a massive pothole on Park Avenue and careened into the back of a truck. Moral of the story: driving here is terrible.

In fact, it's so terrible that it often becomes something of a challenge. This can be a fun challenge (like threading a Jaguar XKR around Wall Street) or deadly, as ofthefarm explained while we were shaming some idiots speeding on their bikes.

If you want to *actually* test the limits of your riding skills, try riding around NYC. Twisting the throttle and leaning into turns is nothing compared to the chaos of city riding. I liken it to running with the bulls. It's a rush and you can get it while riding within the speed limit. And in case you think I'm naive about this, a friend of mine died last year when crossing Central Park on one of the roads that goes through east/west. He – like the riders mentioned above – didn't have a license. No death wish here! Just glad to be riding, safely.

The mark of a good rider is the number of years he's been on the road.
