Confirmed: Drunk Driving A Mower Not A Work-Around For Suspended License
A report says Pennsylvania State Troopers (literally) lassoed a guy who was cruising down the street on his Cub Cadet lawn tractor with a suspended driver's license and "three times" the legal limit of booze in his blood. So in case anybody was wondering, looks like "it's just a mower!" is not a viable defense.
The Daily Item tells us cops rolled up on 25-year-old Tyler Anspach after getting calls about "an agitated man making threats and driving a lawn mower along the road." Anspach was apparently mowing his way to a friend's house with a cargo of additional beers yet to be consumed.
Sounds kind of hilarious after the fact, but Anspach allegedly became aggressive enough for police to charge him with "driving while under the influence of alcohol, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, not having a registration and certificate of title, driving while his license is suspended or revoked, not having financial responsibility and careless driving."
He's reportedly been arrested for drinking and driving related issues three times in the last decade, which probably didn't help cops have a sense of humor about his latest driving infraction. Even if it was on a vehicle limited to walking-pace.
