Commenter Of The Day: Derecho Edition

People are often convinced they've experienced a tornado when, in fact, they merely experienced a strong straight-line windstorm known as a derecho (Spanish for "straight"). And not just any wind. A derecho has winds higher than 58 MPH and can extend ahead of a storm in a line hundreds of miles long. These systems occasionally manifest themselves across states. Severe derechos occur in the United States only a few times a year, but when they do damage is often in the millions. If you're in the path of one of these watch out for the rare Particularly Dangerous Situation watches from the National Weather Service. There are no such storms out there today, but we were blown away by the commenting performance by Ash78, who we've been actively trying to avoid lately.
