Experience
A motoring journalist for more than a decade, James has written for outlets around the world, including the U.S., Australia, and Europe. He started out at Leasing.com, writing news, road test results, and features, before working for the Press Association's automotive branch, reviewing cars for newspapers and magazines across the U.K. Later, after a five-year stint writing news for Motor1.com's U.K. branch, he joined the Car Enthusiast editorial agency, writing road tests for international audiences. Much of his career has been spent road-testing new vehicles, which has helped make him an expert in the European new car market. He joined Static Media in 2026 to share his extensive experience behind the wheel with Jalopnik.
