You're Safer Listening To Coldplay Than Johnny Cash When You Drive

A new study of questionable scientific rigor says you're safer listening to Coldplay and Norah Jones than M.I.A. or Johnny Cash when you drive.

Maybe that's true, but is life really worth living if you're stuck listening to Coldplay for big chunks of it?

All of this was done for an insurance site and they only studied four male and female motorists so the methodology is a little suspect, but the conclusion is probably not far from reality. Fast beats = excitement and distraction. Calmer music = attention... assuming you don't fall asleep or purposefully crash to avoid having to listen to more Bruno Mars.

While I think Bon Iver, Radiohaed, Elton John and a little JT (I'm only human) makes for a great mixtape, I can only listen to "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith maybe twice before I start rooting for the meteor.

On the dangerous playlist, M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes" with Kanye, Johnny Cash, Guns N' Roses, and Johnny Cash makes an arguably better listen.
