What's The Most Overpriced New Car?
Even though the Carpocalypse has put a major dent in new car sales, there are still automakers selling new cars at outrageous prices. What's the most overpriced new car?
We can count the number of new cars any of us have purchased, combined, on one hand, so nearly everything seems overpriced to us. Despite our anti-new car bias, we can't help but scoff at the price of a Hyundai Equus. We're just getting used to the idea of spending $37,000 for a Hyundai Genesis Sedan, so the prospect of parting with nearly $100K for a Korean luxury car is almost laughable. Don't get us wrong. We think every car in this class is overpriced and mostly unappealing to us, but at least with the Genesis twins you're getting a massive bargain over comparable vehicles. The Equus is on-par, or more expensive, than its German and Japanese counterparts. All the boredom of an overly-leathered luxury flagship without the prestige of owning an Axis-made car? No thank you.
