What Racing Car Would You Daily-Drive?
Who among us is living the dream like that Japanese man who drives a Porsche 962C? He fell in love with the car watching endurance racing in the 1980s, and when he got the chance to actually own one later in life, he went for it. And he doesn't just keep it sequestered in a garage, either — he drives it all over Japan.
And why not? "Owning a racing car is such a joy," he says in the video. We should all be so lucky. Cars are meant to be driven and maintained, not shoved away in a museum or a barn!
So in honor of Formula One's triumphant return to the U.S. this weekend, I ask you this: what racing car would you drive every day?
The man in the video makes a pretty compelling case for an old endurance car, but I think I would have to go with something a bit more practical myself, like a Subaru Impreza rally car from the 1990s. At least it has a trunk, right?
So what about you guys? What racing car would you drive to the grocery store?
