VIDEO: Swarm Of Maggots Forces Plane To Land

This disturbing video shows airline passengers dealing with maggots falling on them from the overhead luggage bins. The creepy insects caused the plane to make an emergency landing earlier this week in what sounds like a horror movie plot.

A passenger on the U.S. Airways flight from Atlanta, Georgia to Charlotte, North Carolina stuffed a bag containing rotten meat into the overhead bin before taking off from the airport on Monday. The package then began to spill maggots and flies, which quickly spread through the luggage area before falling onto passengers.

"All of a sudden, I felt somebody flick the back of my hair and on the front of me came a maggot, which I flicked off me. I felt like they were crawling all over me because it only takes one maggot to upset your world. And as they're telling us to stay calm and seated, I see a maggot looking back at me and I'm thinking...These are anaerobic, flesh-eating larvae that the flight attendants don't have to sit with..." a passenger told the Associated Press

The plane turned around, was cleaned, and the customers eventually made it to Charlotte. There was no explanation given for why someone wanted to transport rotten meat or how the TSA screeners missed the live insects but won't let anyone else through security with 4 ounces of contact solution.
