This Is What Happens When You Put A 1,000 HP Airplane Engine In A Car
This is a Rolls-Royce Phantom II chassis with a thousand horsepower Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 Airplane engine, and a coach-built body, doing a burnout. Hoonage of the highest order.
Without a doubt, this is definitely the classiest burnout I've seen in a while, recorded at what appears to be a hill climb at the Brooklands Museum. The engine which comes from a Hawker Hurricane makes about 1,030 hp (of course depending on altitude), so you can keep your P1s and LaFerraris because I'll have this.
I think the bystander heard near the end of the video sums up the experience well:
"That was mental."
Mental, indeed. A report of Matt attempting this in a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead will follow shortly.
