Spy Photos: BMW 1-Series Engineers Are Large And In Charge
The good folks over at the line that's never crooked at Edmunds are all excited that they've caught what looks to be the BMW 1-Series out for some warm-weather testing and photo shooting in the American southwest. And yes, that engineer is not on large and in charge, he may very well be getting a tongue-lashing after letting this baby bimmer out into the open. In addition to getting engineers in trouble, the Edmunds folks are also parroting rumors we've heard that we can be expecting the little coupe stateside sometime next year, badged either as a 130i or a 135i. As for which we'll get, let's let Edmunds jump out on that limb:
"Our money is on 130i as BMW will want to get the price down below $30K. Even still, were talking 230 horsepower and 200 pound feet of torque in a relatively small, rear wheel drive package. Then again, with the Volkwagen GTI offering 200hp and 207 lb-ft of torque for just over $22K, the 130i isn't necessarily a slam dunk."
And also V-Dub's got "the Fast." And you should never underestimate a killer bunny. Just sayin'.
