Keith Richards' Sweet 1972 Ferrari Dino Can Be Your 'Beast Of Burden'

Long unappreciated in the Prancing Horse world, the Ferrari Dino 246 GT is finally gaining the love and attention it deserves from critics and collectors alike. And now, some lucky collector has the chance to own a very special Dino — and it's one that screams "start me up!"

Up for grabs at a Coys of Kensington auction next Friday is this 1972 Dino owned by none other than Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. Coys says Richards bought the car new and put 25,000 original miles on it before it went to a collection in Japan, where it has lived since. And with that lovely silver color, there's no need to "paint it black!"

The auction is being done at no reserve, so it should fetch a sizable amount of cash, according to Coys:

Chris Routledge, Managing Partner at Coys, said: "A Dino offered at no reserve is rare enough in itself and would make this is a highly desirable and collectible item in its own right, but when one adds to this proven long-term ownership by rock and roll aristocracy, the Keith Richards's car has to be the ultimate Dino and will surely give any car collector and rock enthusiast a great 'Satisfaction'!"

The auction has several other interesting items up for grabs, including this 1950 Cisitalia Abarth 204 A Spyder driven by the legendary Italian racer Tazio Nuvolari. He ran it in the 1950 Palermo Monte Pellegrino hillclimb, which happened to be the last race of his storied career. Of course, it has no roof, so I bet you'll be screaming "Gimme shelter!" if it starts raining on the drive home? (Too much? I'm not done yet.)
