Hyundai Blue2 Concept Is Revealed To Attend New York Auto Show

Hyundai revealed the Blue2 — like "Blue Squared" — fuel-cell electric vehicle concept at the 2011 Seoul Auto Show. Does it indicate what a future sedan from the company will look like? We'll see.

The name is a mashup of "Blue Drive" and the "2" from H2, the molecular formula for hydrogen gas. Hyundai says the Blue2 concept's hydrogen stack and electric motor combo produces a gas-mileage equivalent of 82 mpg. An ionizer, much like the one in the Nissan Quest leans the cabin air, while antibacterial leather seats keep sneezes and other peoples' bad hygiene from causing a mini typhoid epidemic.

Designers call the styling "intersected flow," and the Blue2 gets now-standard concept-car fare like side cameras and an infotainment system by which sensors can read the driver's hand movements.

Sensorship? C'mon, this is America!
