1992 Ford Mustang LX
Welcome to Down On The Street, where we admire old vehicles found parked on the streets of the Island That Rust Forgot: Alameda, California. When was the last time you saw a late Fox Mustang LX that looked this clean?
Granted, this car is only 18 years old and doesn't deserve "classic" status, but the low-end 4- and 6-cylinder notchback LX Mustangs made around the end of the original Fox platform's production run were treated as disposable cars- in fact, plenty were rentals- and most of the example you see on the street these days have been treated accordingly.
This one isn't perfect; the side mirrors have faded in the sun and the body shows the signs of a few parking-lot encounters with bumpers and shopping carts. I'm guessing it's an original-owner car that rarely leaves the island, which would explain its good condition.
