Cause you would make sure you had beefy brakes if you knew your Volvo was now putting out 53hp right?

Stock the car is only 3000lb, but it you can easily get out 300# by removing all the airbag junk.
Volvo's are actually light cars for their class, they are just usually underpowered and "look" heavy.

Ran it in rally events, although he mostly broke driveline components. Why? Because it was pushing out better than 600hp, and 504 ft/lbs of torque -- at the rear wheels. Quite entertaining.

If you do a google search for "Fire Breathing Monster" and "John Lane" you can get some interesting accounts, plus a picture or two.

Reminds me of a recent car show where some bozo comes up and starts breaking my balls about my car. He shut right the hell up when I asked him what he was working on. Nothing, evidently. Always respect those who take the time to wring maximum hoonage out of any vehicle. Oh - and that looks like an eighth mile to me. What's with that portable timing rig?
