What'll come of James Bond's vehicle of choice after Ford sheds Aston Martin? FoMoCo's $100 million product-placement deal with Sony/MGM will only be in its second of three pictures by the next 007 flick, which means the DBS won't be usurped by a BMW (or similar). But fansite MI6 reports Bond will drive the upcoming Jaguar XF, set to replace the S-Type in 2008. Seems fitting, but imagine how many gallons of oil and smokescreen he could fit in a Volvo V70. Detroit Auto Show Preview: Nevermind The Embargo Or The Bollocks, It's The Jaguar C-XF Concept Car!
Although it's got an embargo with more holes than that mesh front grille, the newly un-embargoed Jaguar C-XF concept car, according to Ian Callum, Jag's Director of Design, "evokes instant desire." While we dunno yet if we agree, we do know it's definitely showing a look or two that scream "classic classy" Jag (like the 1950 Mark VII and 1959 Mark 2 saloons) a look or two screaming "new hotness" Jag (like the current XK) and a couple design elements that scream "where the hell did you come from?" (like the "bold move" that is that aggressive black-chromed grille). The concept's meant to signal the design cues we may see on the next-gen XK sports car series, and from the exterior appearance and big ol' circular Jaguar face on the fascia all the way through to the circular

Following today's high-profile online reveal of C&D's copyrighted layout imagery of the Jaguar C-XF concept — and subsequent pre-legal-action phonecalls to sites involved — Edmunds outflanked the buff mag by posting said images — which had been embargoed by Ford PR — on its Straightline blog.
