"The problems with hatchbacks: 1) cargo security (it's easier to break into a cabin (and therefore a hatch) than a trunk) 2) cargo temperature variations (the cabin is full of windows and gets a lot hotter than a proper trunk) 3) cargo noise (you shouldn't be able to hear your luggage) 4) cargo visibility (related to #1 but not entirely the same) 4.b) chintzy cargo covers that break easily and stow difficultly."

"FWD is never better for these reasons: 1) It's never better to have the weight shift off the driven wheels under acceleration 2) It's never better to have torque steer 3) It's never better to have a car that is reluctant to change directions (since even normal roads have curves) 4) It's never better to not be able to use the throttle to cancel understeer 5) It's never better to have so much weight up front that you can't really use the rear brakes to help stop the car in an emergency (too much dive) 6) It's never more enjoyable to drive a car that understeers like a pig riding a John Deer. If one wants to argue that we *should* drive so slowly on the roads that no performance characteristic of a drivetrain should be considered, then go on."
