UK-based trade mag Just-Auto yesterday reported FoMoCo is considering bringing models from Ford Europe to the US market, a practice the company has employed in the past to fill holes in its stateside line. Among models it's considering are the Mondeo, Focus, S-Max, and Galaxy minivan, which many Jalopnik readers agree are more appealing than their counterparts (if any) in the US. So which ones should they bring? The much-coveted Euro Focus, which shares its underpinnings with the Volvo S40 and Mazda3? Maybe the S-Max, a higher-performance version of the Galaxy minivan? How about the Tourneo utility wagon (young, quirk-addicted parents call the front desk)? Maybe something else? Enough with the talk. Take our poll already.

Uhh, how can anyone at Ford not look at the ONE Chrysler product not discounted, the Sprinter, and not conclude that Ford needs the Transit to replace the dreaded Econoline ASAP, I don't know.
Speaking of which, I don't think that picture is of the Transit.
As for the rest, bring the Mondeo wagon. Sales of the sedan would (understandably) come at the expense of the Fusion, plus the wagon is really pretty cool and fills a spot in which Ford has absolutely nothing right now, save for the ol' busted Focus wagon.
why only vote for one.
Mondeo
Mondeo wagon
Focus ST
SMax
Cmax
wow, if you threw in festiva that would make a nice car lineup here...maybe i should get a meeting with the mullett to discuss this?
as much as the Focus ST would be nice to have in the US i think the Mondeo would bring in the most profit because Ford is lacking the most in the large sedan category
Bringing over the Mondeo sedan and wagon would let Ford use them to replace either the Fusion or the Milan, giving Ford and Mercury some much-needed differentiation.
I agree w/spyker...I picked the focus, just because it pisses me off that we've been denied the superior version for years. But the Mondeo line has been great and I think that would probably be most profitable for them at this point. But they should probably be paying attention to that small car segment.
I'm holding out hope that they'll eventually give us the Fiesta ST, but who am I kidding.
I think the bottom line here is that everyone who loves cars would like to see FordNA product planners kicked in the balls/punched in the ovaries.
Never has a more incompetant set of individuals ever been assembled.
When I first saw the new mondeo in the new bond flick.. I thought it was so HOT.. it looks a bit like the astin martins.. so my vote to the mondeo :)
Since the whole retro tip is working, bring back a rehash of the Capri. And develop a halo project based on it with that same monster they put in the GT500. Or an SVT version (yeah I know SVT's been canned).
How about ALL of them. Even the 71 Capri.
The Mondero, no question the most beautiful car in the FoMoCo lineup.
SVT hasn't so much been canned, as it has been put on hiatus.
They definitely aren't not working on a 2010 turbocharged Lightning.
you can already get a car similar to most of these here in the states; what you can't get is anything like a Transit Connect or Tourneo (Connect), i.e., a small, efficient commercial vehicle. so that's what they should bring.

That picture of a Transit isn't a Transit, it's a Transit Connect, the Transit's baby brother.
They should totally bring the full-size Transit to the States though. Did you know that there taking into account all possible options on the transit, there are over three BILLION different models of the uber-van?
Best. Van. Ever.
One glaring omission:

The Mondeo is reputedly only a hair below Audis and low-end Mercedes-Benzes in quality, and much, much cheaper; it certianly looks And I'd wager the Ford is more reliable, too. But, most importantly of all, the crew of 5th Gear gave it a thumbs-up.
Bring on the Mondeo!
The Transit is also something of a given. Those things can haul cargo like nobody's buisness...and a skilled driver can take one 'round the Nurburgring in about ten minutes!
On the subject of the Focus ST....not until I can get one with AWD.
I just had confirmation from Ford Canada that the Connect will be in Canada for the 2010 model year. They are still not sure if it will be diesel or gas. Diesel, please.
So why stop at the Transit Connect? How about the Transit?
Why not pull an Opel / Saturn and bring the entire european lineup to the US as the "New Mercury".... Even the more expensive to produce Euro Focus as the new Milan?
