Stick Your Fossil Fuel, Eh? Canadian Students Build 3,145-mpg Car

Students at the University of British Columbia handily trounced competitors in this year's SAE Supermileage Competition, using their superior engineering kung-fu to achieve over 3,000 mpg in a car they designed and built. The competition pits smartypants against propellerhead to see who can best expand the efficiency of an internal combustion engine, and the UBC has won in four out of the six competitions it's entered. Employing principals of aerodynamics, weight reduction, and drawing on Canada's storied advancements in dildonics, the team thrusted to victory, despite a diminutive 54cc unit.

  • Vancouver to Halifax has a couple of hills in between. Did they account for climbing grades with that MPG figure? Of course not.

  • 3000 MPG is all well and good, but where's the practical applications of any of this? Anyone can improve MPG ratings by lowering weight and using a smaller engine, and the opposite is true to - just look at all the SUVs on the road. Besides, who's gonna wanna drive a car based on Canada's advancements in dildonics?

  • Everyone, FreeMan. Everyone. Canadian dildonics are the most advanced in the world.

    You sure it isn't "suppositronics"?
