According to the Detroit Free Press, GM's Maxibob Lutz says the new, 600-hp Dodge Viper will soon have some competition from the General. Lutz confirmed what sources have been saying for over a year — that Chevrolet will build the high-powered super 'Vette known as "Blue Devil" or "Stingray" or, in some circles, "Paukert the Exclaimer." The car is expected to launch in 2009 with 650 hp, though a rumored hood scoop made of duct tape and cardboard boxes has yet to be confirmed.
