Aston Martin Planning High-Performance V8 Vantage

aston_coupe_autoexpress.jpg

The UK's AutoExpress is reporting Aston Martin is considering a variant of its V8 Vantage on par with Porsche's GT3 — a stripped-down, lightweight coupe with an upclocked 4.3-liter V8, giving it 420hp, 40 more than the base model. Sources say the car will arrive in late 2007 as a 2008 model, priced in the $150,000 range. The RS model will also have a stiffer suspension, an aerodynamically attuned body kit, carbon fiber roof and 19-inch mag-alloy wheels. Top speed will be in the 190mph range. Yes, please.

  • I'll even take it in that narsty yellow. Well, on second thought, no. As lame as it sounds, I think I'd rather have no Aston than a yellow one. Yellow works on a lot of vehicles (the RUF CTR, the Gallardo, LR Defender 90) but not on anything from AM.

  • I don't mind it in yellow, to be honest. But you are right about the D 90 in yellow. Beautiful!
