Ferrari California, CTS-V Record, Audi R8 V10, McLaren P11, and 9FF GT9...DEBATE! - Garage419
FROM GARAGE419: Matt Farah and Mike Spinelli discuss the Ferrari California, The V10 that's about to fall into the R8, McLaren and Mercedes new supercars, the 9FF GT9, and the record holding Cadillac CTS-V. More »Commenter Of The Day: Well That Was Strange Edition
For a day that was devoid of stories of everyone's favorite kinky racing administrator things sure got weird. And we mean weird in that you wake up, look at the other person (or persons) and without saying a word you have a tacit understanding that what just happened will not ever be discussed sort of way. It started with Mecaphilia then transitioned to dragons in Scotland (nessies?) and ended with Minis in leather. We get it, cars are inanimate objects of our desire. That's what this site is about, but let's not take it too far. More »
Choose Your Eternity
We had another close race down the highway to the Lake of Fire yesterday, with the so-called win going to the triple helping of '55 Austin FX3 cabs in the Choose Your Eternity poll. Today, however, I'm inspired by the big drums of used tempura-frying oil I saw waiting for disposal behind the Japanese take-out joint near my house; think of all that potential carbon-neutral fuel just sitting there, waiting for some enterprising sort to put together a veggie-oil diesel machine to burn it up! Actually, what we really want is a diesel that runs on liposuction fat harvested from cosmetic surgeons- imagine the sheer coolness of driving a car that runs on human flesh- but the next best thing is a project fueled by your soul!

2010 BMW Z4 Heads To Munich
We've seen the 2010 BMW Z4 testing all over Germany, including the Nürburgring where we saw it ripping up the track. Or at least ripping up a track as much as a plastic camo-ed car can. But now the new Z4's traded in the racing cleats for some dainty little city shoes, at least according to these up-close shots of the Bavarian cream-roadster cruising the streets of Munich.More »
A Car Couch That Costs More Than Your Real Car
We're glad everyone is deciding on a favorite sub-$15k new vehicle, but now it's time to look at something that costs nearly three times as much as your selected new vehicle: a custom designed Car Couch. This Car Couch is the work of Fred Bailey and unlike some other car couches, this one appears to split the car in a length-wise nature, rather than the more popular cross-wise. It's painted sunset orange pearl, includes black leather seating and has functional head and taillights. All of this can be yours for $44,000 on eBay. Can you believe that there are no bids? El Camino
Color us here at Jalopnik red with jealousy. Our friends at PickupTrucks.com sent their Aussie stringer James Stanford out back to let him get in touch with his inner hoon. What better way to do it than by running a brand spankin' new 2008 Holden VE Ute head-to-head with a 2008 Ford Falcon FG Ute? Stanford found out all the really important technical details on the two new car-based pickups — like both can hold a slab of 24 stubbies (beer bottles) behind each seat. Yes, the important technical details were covered, but how do each Ute do at going frontways? Sideways? Backways? You'll have to head over to PUTC for the specifics, but according to Stanford, the Ford out-drags the Holden, but the Holden took down the Falcon by a few tenths of a second in the almost-quarter-mile. We think we'd probably call that a tie. Sounds to us like they should send team Jalopnik over for the round two, eh?

Cars From The Future: Volvo Tandem Car
Because everyone knows how popular the tandem bicycle is, Volvo's Monitoring and Concept Center has designed this vehicle that takes a cue from the tandem bike. This is Volvo's Tandem Car. The schtick behind this thing is that it is an inline two-seater that is also, what else, but energy efficient. The design of the Tandem Car is inspired by overcrowded urban areas that could benefit from luge-looking vehicles. Just check out the gallery and decide for yourself. The most obvious downside is ... you know.[Cardesignonline via DVICE]

The Agent Provocateur Mini Clubman, Now With Video
Some of you out there were more than interested in the Agent Provocateur Mini Clubman, which was put together to raise money for the 2008 Life Ball charity event. As if the sexy little Mini wasn't ridiculous enough, they put together a Max Mosley-esque photoshoot. Now thanks to AutoJunk.nl we now have the very NSFW video of the shoot to match the NSFW photos below. And no, it isn't a documentary so there's no writing this off as culturally significant. More »Sex With Cars All The Rage In Scotland
It must be car sex day around these parts because now another dragon has surfaced in Scotland. An 18-year-old is being accused of running around his Crannog Way, Kilwinning neighborhood naked and humping every vehicle in sight. Callum Ainsworth, the dragon in question, has denied the accusations and will face a trial this summer on charges of public indecency. Let's just hope he went for the tailpipe like any professional car-humper, rather than compromising the integrity of the car's body work. (Thanks, Vanessa) [Irvine Times via BB] (Image via Getty)

We'd Question The Legality Of A 15-inch Windshield LCD
Any AutoX'er can testify that the Nissan 300zx is one heck of a fun car to drive. With that being said, we're baffled that one particular Boston 1991 Nissan 300zx owner would feel the need to install a 15-inch LCD screen right in the view of the windshield. Sure, there's space to the left and right to, you know, see the road and all, but in some states hanging cardboard pine trees from the rear-view mirror is deemed illegal and we'd hate to see what the police had to say about this ridiculous mod. Nevertheless, it could be yours for $5,000. More »
